Tyshun, one of BPI’s Home Visitors, currently works with families, supporting them in a number of ways. This includes children reaching their developmental milestones and supporting their physical, mental, and emotional growth.
The most rewarding part of her job is sharing in the successes of the families we serve. As parents learn and apply new skills, children flourish and develop confidence, as they master the developmental milestones. Being a witness to parents setting and reaching their short term and long-term goals, all while offering support as they navigate through life’s challenges has been an inspiration to her.
Tyshun’s prior work history during the past 24 years has revolved around children and families. It began with serving as an Assistant Teacher in first and second grades at John Ball Elementary School. From there, the next 16 years would be spent at Albina Early Head Start, serving in a variety of positions. These included Assistant Teacher, Teacher, and Home Base Home Visitor.
