Freddy Kennedy is the Parent Engagement Coordinator for BPI. His current role consists of advocating for parents and students academically, financially and spiritually. He also tutors third graders for the school base literacy program where the aim is to improve every child’s reading and ensure they are at grade level.

Freddy worked as a DSP (Direct Support Professional) for four years; spending two years with adults and two years with children from ages 13-16. Freddy is also certified in CPR and First Aid.  He has developed multiple skills such as adaptability, attentiveness and positive reinforcement.

He has a deep level of passion for the work he does because he can relate to most of the kids he supports. Born and raised in North and NE Portland Freddy understands the difficulties of being a Black preteen surrounded by peer pressure. He also understands that the action of making a simple choice at this age good or bad can potentially effect a youth’s entire life.

Freddy enjoys exercising, movies and music. He likes to create art whether it’s visually or in music forms.
